KURT ATTAWAY: Family Wellness Author
Kurt Attaway is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate in the state of Texas. Kurt graduated from the University of Houston-Clear Lake with a Master's degree in Marriage & Family Therapy. His passion for marriage and family is fueled by his love for is own wife and kids. During his training, he was listed by faculty as the top family therapist of his graduating class. He values working cooperatively and collaboratively with his clients to help them take steps forward in life that bring greater expressions of life, hope and wholeness. Kurt currently works with individuals, couples and families dealing with relational conflict, life challenges and issues that are disrupting their desired life experience. Kurt works in private practice at The Center for Couples and Families (Houston, TX area). In addition to being a therapist, Kurt serves on the Leadership Team at The Center for Couples and Families as the Director of WholeFit. Kurt works with individuals and corporations to help increase the health and wellness of his clients mentally, physically, relationally and professionally.
DARLENE STAHELI: Nutrition Author
Darlene Staheli is a board certified Holistic Health Coach and a professionally trained Health Supportive Chef. Her passion is to help people feel healthy and happy through delicious food and lifestyle changes. Upon completing her Health Coach training program through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, (NYC) she received her board certification through the AADP. She furthered her education by enrolling in the Natural Epicurean Academy of Culinary Arts. (Austin TX) While there she was trained in Macrobiotic, Ayurvedic, Vegan, Vegetarian, Raw and Living foods. She completed her training by working with Rip Esselstyn and ‘Engine 2’. She works with her husband, Jim Staheli, D.O., an Integrative and Functional medical doctor. Together they unite in bringing quality back into the lives of those they treat. Darlene works with clients in groups and one-on-one coaching, teaches cooking classes, health workshops and seminars, is a personal and retreat chef, and loves to develop new recipes for her family and clients.
Dr. MKIE OLSON, LMFT, Ph.D: Mind/Body Author
Mike is a licensed marriage and family therapist in Texas. He graduated with his Master’s degree from Brigham Young University and his Ph.D. from Kansas State University. Following graduate study, he completed a post-doctoral research and clinical fellowship in Behavioral Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Olson has over 14 years clinical and research experience bringing together mind-body and spirit with numerous publications in scientific journals and presentations nationally and internationally in mind-body health and medicine. Mike believes that wellness flows from balance at the intersection of physical, mental/emotional, social, and spiritual domains. His academic, scholarly, and personal life is aimed at bringing these areas into balance. He is the co-founder of WholeFit, an integrated approach to treating mind-body and spirit.
KIM THOMAS: Fitness Author
Kim is a AFAA certified Group Fitness Instructor and Schwinn certified Indoor Cycling Instructor. She has been an avid fitness enthusiast for over 16 years and just recently decided to turn her passion into a career. She has been a fitness instructor at the South Shore Harbour Fitness Center for the past 3 years. She has competed and placed in three half marathons and finished fourth place (in her age group) in her first full marathon. As a mother of two busy boys, she understands the need for balance between home and hobbies. In her down time, Kim enjoys exercise, reading, spending time with family and friends, writing, and music.
A native of Syracuse New York, Kim graduated from the State University College at Oneonta with a Bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Biology.
DR. SERGE GREGORIE, Ph.D: Nutrition & Health Author
Dr. Serge is a clinical nutritionist. He earned his doctorate degree in nutrition from McGill University in Canada. In addition, he completed a 7-year postdoctoral at Harvard Medical School in Massachusetts where he studied the impact of fat as it relates to heart disease. He has authored a book on this topic that is awaiting publication with Edition Berger publishers in Canada. He holds an advance certification in Nutrition Response Testing (NRT) from Ulan Nutritional Systems in Florida and he is a certified herbalist through the Australian College of Phytotherapy. His goal is to help as many people as possible by educating them to take responsibility for their own health and thereby achieve great health and vitality. He specializes in designing nutritional healing plans for the whole family.
